This decorative plate presents Vinternatt i Rondane (Winter Night in the Mountains), one of Norway’s most iconic artworks. About the painting
Harald Sohlberg (1869–1935) is celebrated as one of Norway’s foremost painters, known for his luminous, atmospheric depictions of Norwegian landscapes. Vinternatt i Rondane (1914) is his most famous work and stands as a national treasure.
The original painting can be seen today at the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo, in Room 061 of the Collection Exhibition: Moods and Emotions.
