These napkin rings are part of Kongetinn (Royal Pewter), one of Norway’s most iconic mid-century pewter designs. With their unified Viking-inspired motifs, they bring both cultural heritage and decorative presence to the dining table. Still in pristine, unused condition, they are perfect for setting an authentic atmosphere or for collecting.

The story of Kongetinn
Introduced by Hardanger Bestikk in the early 1960s, Kongetinn quickly became the company’s most popular line, dominating sales for 22 of its first 30 years. Its motifs unite Saint Olav, Viking ships, Norse ornamentation, and the inscription “Heilag Olav og hans menn” (“Saint Olav and his men”). The success of the cutlery line led to an expansion into Kongekorpus, adding mugs, candle snuffers, and other pewter objects with the same distinctive decoration.

Though production ended in the late 1980s, Kongetinn remains a beloved symbol of Norwegian craftsmanship and design. Today, pieces like this napkin ring set are sought-after collectibles — equally suitable for use at the table or as part of a display celebrating Norway’s rich pewter heritage.
