Description
The Farmer’s Rose (Bondemønster) pattern was launched in 1932 and quickly became one of Porsgrund’s most beloved designs. Inspired by Norwegian rosemaling, it glows in strong folk colours of red, green, yellow, and blue. Over the decades it has been produced in different moulds and decorative variations, but the pattern itself has remained a household favourite in Norway.
This set is a particularly rare find: a true tea service. The wide cups allow the tea to breathe, and drinking from thin porcelain is a luxury in itself — light in the hand, delicate to the lips, and a genuine pleasure to refill. The larger 19 cm (7.5 in) plates make the service especially well suited for breakfast or afternoon tea, whether you serve Norwegian bread slices or British scones.
Additional offerings
Alongside this tea service, I also offer a coffee service from the same mould and period, as well as a wide range of matching accessories: serving dishes, creamers, and sugar bowls — all stamped from the late 1960s to early 1970s. See my other listings to complete the set.
