التفاصيل والمعلومات العملية
Join a private guided walk through the forest landscape of Østmarka – one of the most dramatic and varied woodland areas near Oslo. The route is around 5–6 km and follows a mix of gravel road, forest trails and some steep, rocky sections near spectacular cliff formations. You’ll need solid footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, and a moderate level of fitness.
Along the way, we’ll pass calm forest lakes, enjoy great views over the tree-covered hills, and experience both the quiet beauty and rugged character of the Norwegian forest. This walk includes a visit to an important historical site, the ruins of Sarabråten, and you`ll some interesting insigths in importen Oslo-histotory from the 1800s. The tour also takes us through some of the most dramatic geological formations in the Oslo region, the cliffs of Hauktjern, populair among climbers and hiking enthusiasts.
We’ll take a break on a clifftop with views over the water to enjoy a small picnic with a selection of traditional Norwegian sweet and salty snacks – simple but satisfying, and perfect for refueling in nature.
The atmosphere is relaxed. There’s space for friendly conversation, curiosity, photo stops, and quiet moments in the forest. This is a private guided tour — only you and your group (family, friends, colleagues). That means we tailor the pace and focus to your interests.
This walk is suitable for older children who are comfortable with hiking in varied terrain. Please note: This is real, wild Norwegian nature. Some sections of the trail go near cliffs and steep drops. Children must be able to follow instructions or be closely supervised by an adult. Important Information and Guidelines:
-
We are a small, independent company, and guiding is something we do alongside other work – more of a passion than a profession. We do not have separate insurance coverage for customers.
-
Please make sure you have valid travel insurance or an EU Health Insurance Card. We assume and hope that you already have this while traveling.
-
The nature we explore is wild and unregulated. You must be mindful of your footing at all times, listen to the guide, and take responsibility for your own safety.
-
Some parts of the trail pass close to steep cliffs and rock formations. Children (and adults!) must be able to follow instructions and be closely supervised by an adult.
-
In Norway, there’s a saying: “There’s no bad weather, only bad clothing.” We aim to proceed with the hike in most weather conditions – sun, clouds, or rain – as all offer their own unique experience of nature.
-
If weather or trail conditions make the hike unsafe or impossible, we will cancel, reschedule, or adapt the route or activity in dialogue with you.
